Caleb and I were blessed to have been able to attend Daniel's graduation from OCS this past January! Because Daniel was among the ranks of the first officers comissioned under President Obama we decided it was a once-in-a-lifetime event that I just could not pass up.
I flew with Caleb in my lap (for the last time) to Columbus, GA where we attended the graduation. It was a long trip back to TX so we stopped off in New Orleans, LA to do some sightseeing. I had never been there so I was excited to see the city. I was aware of the huge French influence on the local food and architecture, but I really had no idea how beautiful it is there. Of course every city comes with the poor areas as well and since hurricane Katrina I think it has been very hard for them to recover completely. That did not distract from the delicious Cajun food! It was so good, we also ate at a fresh oyster bar and I was given a real pearl!
In all, it was a great time.
Daniel will go back to Ft. Benning for his second class in the first week of March. For now he is working back at the company doing odd jobs to keep busy. We are still moving to Ft. Campbell, KY this June. We won't know if we will be living on the Tennessee side of base, or the Kentucky side. I hear Clarksville, TN is a nice area so I am scoping out that area as of right now.
Our cruise to Progreso, MX and Cozumel, MX is the next big thing coming up. We will be going the last week of February. Hopefully I won't get too seasick!
Thats all for now folks! Thanks for taking the time to catch up with us!
