I thought I would finish the year, or start off 2009 rather, with a family blog that everyone can see who may not be into the facebook/myspace scene.
We hope everyone has a happy holiday wherever you may be this Christmas season.
Daniel is serving at Ft. Benning, GA at the moment finishing up his first Officer Candidate School. He will be home on the 20th for two weeks. Daniel graduates the first of three schools on January 29. After that he will no longer be SGT, but 2LT Tierney! I am so very proud of him and I am hoping to be able to attend his graduation.
I will post pictures of him in his new officer rank and uniform! He will be wearing a "class A" uniform slightly different than that of the enlisted uniform.
As for Caleb and I, we are doing great here in San Antonio, TX. Caleb has developed impressive motor skills and has already started favoring one hand over the other for eating, drawing, and hitting Mommy. I'm almost positive he is going to be a "lefty". Daniel told me more presidents were left handed than right... it must be a sign! His vocabulary is slowly but surely expanding, his favorites at the moment are "fish, kitty kitty kitty, woof, meow, socks, shoes", and of course "more mama"!
I have been offered, but haven't started a GS position at the schoolhouse on post doing the same job as a training tech for the radiology program. I was there for about 4-5 months helping out while I was on active duty waiting to hear if I would be deployed or not. I am thankful to be at home with my son while my husband is able to further his own career and setting the foundations for a bright future for the family of Daniel Tierney!
Thanks for taking a look, and please stay tuned as I will be updating on a regular basis. With Daniel turning over to the Officer ranks there will be much excitement and change for us!
